Tim Snyder

Forty-three-year-old North Carolina native, Tim Snyder, a father of two and aspiring musician since birth conceived the idea for Underground Music Station.

Born to parents of the 50's and 60's, Tim grew up in a home where rock 'n roll was daily fare...but his exposure was broad. His love of music was born in his soul and shared with all who saw the great passion he had for rhythm, instruments and the artists who brought the instruments to life.

Tim's home studio is stocked with a collection of vintage instruments and equipment, in addition to modern sound and recording gadgets to make it more fun for family as well as the students he has been mentoring there for over a decade. He is anxious to share his new venture with the many students he has helped launch their music career over the years.

As Manager and Owner, Tim oversees operations at Underground Music Station on a daily basis as well as instructing beginning drummers and guitarists.  His experience ranges from beginner drum lessons to playing various venues and recording in professional studio environments across the U.S.  With an extensive background in sales and customer relations, as well as giving lessons and playing music, Tim has been well-suited to grow his vision into a successful business venture.

Roman Fey

Roman is a native of Hood River and has participated in numerous successful community projects through his work and his generous volunteer efforts. He is widely renowned as one of a team of musicians and artists that helped to create and build "The Polar Express" into a sold out rolling theater. During his decade-long tenure as Conductor and Assistant Event Coordinator for The Mt. Hood Railroad, Roman starred in the popular seasonal production that carries families on a musical adventure from the village station into the foothills of Mount Hood and the upper valley nightly for Christmas fun.

There is no denying that Roman values family and community to the highest degree. He works as a Behavioral Therapist with children for a local non-profit both in and out of the Hood River County public school system. He coaches basketball, baseball, soccer and football as well as serving as an umpire to the community leagues and volunteering for Big Brothers-Big Sisters.

Roman honed his musical and technical stage skills while traveling around the world by ship from Hong Kong to Panama, followed by twenty years of playing with bands around Oregon. With his background in psychology and his broad musical experience, Roman is a natural fit for the Underground Music Station mentoring team.

“Sharing music with others has been a life long goal of mine. The opportunity to work in a program like the Underground Music Station is a dream come true for those of us that appreciate music as an integral part of shaping a successful life. Music is a positive force in a child’s malleable mind that reinforces hard work and creativity that lasts a lifetime. An area like Hood River, as rich in talent and artistic energy as it is, is perfect for this “come one, come all” musical oasis.  I want to be part of this amazingly talented group of educators so that we as a team, can open up new doors to our community through music education”.

We’re delighted to have Chris here to share his talent with the people of the Gorge at the Underground Music Station. From beginner to advanced, Chris is a fantastic resource for anyone at any skill level, and utilizes modern, well-proven methods of instruction.
